Timothy R. Snider

Timothy R. Snider

Founder and Chairman

Timothy Snider has spent over 45 years in the copper industry. His experience includes on the ground and leadership assignments in various aspects of copper production and operations, technical services, exploration, general management and executive leadership. Prior to becoming the founding chairman of Cupric, Snider was president and Chief Operating Officer of Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold and its predecessor Phelps Dodge Corporation. During his tenure at Phelps Dodge, he led a major technological transformation of the company’s production to include hydrometallurgical processing and helped to establish Phelps Dodge as an industry leader in technology and operational excellence. He also led the technical and operational integration of the Phelps Dodge acquisition of Cyprus-Amax in 1999 and the Freeport-McMoRan/Phelps Dodge merger in 2007.

Mr. Snider holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Geology and Chemistry from Northern Arizona University and is a graduate of the Wharton Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently holds directorships with two public mining companies: IAMGold Corporation and Teck Resources. He is a former director of Compania de Minas Buenaventura and Compass Minerals International. In addition, he sits on the boards of the Arizona chapter of the Nature Conservancy and the Northern Arizona University Foundation. He was the founding chairman of the University of Arizona’s Institute for Mineral Resources, and served as director of the Mining Foundation of the Southwest.


Dennis M. Bartlett

Dennis Bartlett has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry. Much of his career was with Phelps Dodge Mining Company where he held various positions including General Manager of the Morenci mine in Arizona, President of Chino Mines Company in New Mexico, President of Climax Molybdenum Company, Senior Vice President in charge of all Phelps Dodge copper mining operations in the Americas and Senior Vice President of Development. Earlier in is career, Mr.Bartlett was also the Technical Service Manager for the development, construction and start-up of the Candelaria mine in Chile

Dennis was the founding Chief Executive Officer of Cupric. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona and an MBA degree from Western New Mexico University. He also sits on the board of PolyMet Mining Corporation.


David Ellis

David Ellis

Non-Executive Director

David Ellis is a Managing Partner at Global Natural Resource Investments, a global private equity business focused on natural resource investment opportunities. Mr. Ellis joined the Barclays Natural Resource Investments (BNRI) team in 2006 at the inception of the business, in 2015 BNRI was subject to a management buyout forming GNRI. He previously worked in the Mining and Metals Banking teams of Barclays Capital and Société Générale.

David is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds BSc in Accounting and Financial Management from Sheffield University.


Richard Jennings

Richard Jennings has 13 years of experience in the private equity industry, 11 years within the natural resources sector, and is a 13 years’ qualified corporate lawyer. He has had previous roles at Linklaters LLP and Barclays Natural Resource Investments (BNRI).

Richard was part of the management buyout of BNRI in 2015 to form Global Natural Resource Investments (GNRI), and holds various directorships across the GNRI portfolio, currently within both Oil and Gas and Mining sectors. Richard is Managing Director and General Counsel for GNRI.


Kgosiemang K. Molosiwa

Kgosiemang K. Molosiwa

Non-Executive Director

Kgosiemang (KK) Molosiwa is a successful businessman who has founded, directed and managed several major Botswana companies in the mining, manufacturing and agricultural sectors starting in 1977. KK has extensive knowledge of government permitting and regulatory issues in the region. In 2002 he founded Wati Ventures (Pty) Ltd which partnered with DeBeers Prospecting to form Debwat (Pty) Ltd. This joint venture was responsible for the proposed AK6 mine in Letlhakane, currently known as Boteti Mine, which was later sold to Lucara Mines. In 2005 he co-founded Dezzo Roofing which manufactured Aluzinc, a lightweight roofing system.

KK’s association with Khoemacau Copper Mining began in 2007 when he was appointed as a director of Hana Mining Limited, which was acquired by Cupric Canyon Capital in 2013.


Johan Ferreira

Johan Ferreira

Executive Director

Johan Ferreira has 32 years of experience in the mining industry. Over and above his rigorous operational experience, he has a proven track record in mine design, project management and the commissioning of mining projects.

Johan started his mining career in 1986 with Anglo American as a Learner Official and progressed to the level of Senior Vice President Operations - South African Region for what became AngloGold Ashanti. Prior to joining Khoemacau, Johan was the Regional Senior Vice President - Africa Region for Newmont based in Ghana. During his four years of service with Newmont, he had many successes. Apart from dealing with complex internal and external stakeholder relationships, infrastructure challenges, and new project development, Ghana was one of Newmont’s top performing operating divisions under Johan’s leadership.

Johan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) degree from the University of Pretoria and is a qualified and certified Professional Engineer.


John Munro

John Munro

Executive Director

John Munro has 25 years of experience in the mining and private equity industries. He began his career with Gold Fields of South Africa in 1991, and in 1999, Mr. Munro joined the newly created Gold Fields Limited as the head of feasibility and acquisitions. He was appointed to the Executive Committee of that company in 2002, and assumed responsibility for international gold, copper and PGM operations and development projects, covering Ghana, Peru, Australia and Finland, before returning to Business Development and Strategy in 2006.

In 2008 he was appointed CEO of Rand Uranium, a private gold and uranium start up in South Africa, owned by First Reserve Corporation, AMCI and Harmony Gold. Following the sale of that company in 2011, he joined First Reserve Corporation’s buy out team in London. In 2014, Mr. Munro commenced working with Cupric Canyon covering business development and corporate finance.

John is a non-executive director of Norgold SE and Manuli. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

From early 2017 to end 2018 John assumed the role of CEO of the Cupric group.


Boikobo Bashi Paya

Executive Director

Boikobo Bashi Paya (BK) has a Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of Botswana and a Masters of Philosophy (Geology) from the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom. BK joined Khoemacau Copper Mining from Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), where he was the Director of Research and Development.

Prior to joining BIUST, BK enjoyed a long career with the Ministry of Minerals Energy and Water Resources (MMEWR) where he rose to the ranks of Permanent Secretary.
